15. PRIORITY SITES FOR PUBLICATION

15.1 Backlog sites

It is important that pottery from such sites continues to be published and pre-PPG16 developer funded excavations should be assessed for publication with English Heritage, CADW, or Historic Scotland support.

15.2 Priority sites for publication - Northern England

Brougham cemetery very important 3rd century groups of Samian and coarse wares).
Castleford vicus. [Now published]
Corbridge (the later Roman material).
Garton and Wetwang Slack (in more accessible format).
High Rochester and Risingham (re-examination of the material is desirable).
Housesteads.
Piercebridge (which has good 3rd century material lacking elsewhere).
Ribchester (the recent excavations, which may contain a pre-Agricolan phase). [Now published]
Wallsend.
Walton-le-Dale.

15.3 Priority sites for publication - Scotland

Of first order priority:
Bearsden (publication anticipated).
Camelon (Flavian and Antonine; publication anticipated).
Carpow (Severan; see 3.2 above; publication anticipated).
Cramond. Croy Hill (the site has associated pottery production, a stratified sequence, and a large assemblage).
Elginhaugh (publication anticipated).

Other priority sites:

Cardean.
Falkirk (Antonine).
Mumrills annexe.
Newstead vicus.
Westerwood.

Lower priority:

Bishopton.
Loudoun Hill.
Milton.

15.4 Priority sites for publication - North Wales

Din Lligwy (a reconsideration of all the material is desirable).
Dinorben (the recent excavations need to be published together with a reassessment of the previous work which they re-date).
Holt.
Rhyn Park.
Sites in the Llanymynech area.
