A short paper on an amphora stamp, L.EVMACHI, which apparently
comes from Pompeii, but has been found as far afield as Smyrna,
Carthage, Alexandria, Ampurias, Minorca, and Alesia, as well as
at Nijmegen, from whence comes the example which began the
research. Van der Werff is particularly interested in
identifying the Eumachus (or Eumachia) to which the stamp
refers: several people with the name are known at Pompeii.
